Abstract

Tanaman Jambu biji merupakan salahsatu sumber bahan obat alami yang memiliki senyawa aktif mengandung flavonoid, minyak atsiri dan tanin yang memiliki kemampuan sebagai bahan anti bakteri terhadap bakteri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui daya hambat ekstrak etanol daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava.L) terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dengan menggunakan metode Kirby-Bauer. Konsentrasi pengenceran ekstrak daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.) yang diteliti mulai dari konsentrasi 25 %, 50 %, 75 % dan 100 % dengan kepadatan bakteri 1,5 x 105 sel/mL. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa ekstrak daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dari konsentrasi 25 % dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat sebesar 16 mm, konsentrasi 50 % dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat sebesar 16, 5 mm, konsentrasi 75 % dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat sebesar 17 mm dan 100 % dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat sebesar 17,5 mm. Berdasarkan penelitian dan analisis data yang telah dilakukan dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa ekstrak daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Kata kunci : daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.), bakteri Propionibacterium acnes, daya hambat Abstract Guava plant is a source of natural medicinal ingredients that have active compounds contains flavonoids, essential oils and tannins which have anti-properties bacteria against bacteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibition of the ethanol extract of leaves guava (Psidium guajava.L) againstbacteria Propionibacterium acnes. The research was conducted by methods Experiments onbacteria Propionibacterium acnes using the Kirby-Bauer method. Concentration dilution of guava leaf extract (Psidium guajava L.) which was studied starting from a concentration of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% with a bacterial density of 1.5 x 105cells / mL. From the research results, it was found that the leaf extract Guava (Psidium guajava L.) can inhibit the growth of thebacteria Propionibacterium acnes from concentration of 25% with an average diameter of the inhibition zone of 16 mm, a concentration of 50% with an average the diameter of the inhibition zone was 16.5 mm, a concentration of 75% with an average diameter of the inhibition zone of 17 mm and 100% with an average inhibition zone diameter of 17.5 mm. Based on research and analysis The data that has been done can be concluded that the extract of guava leaves (Psidium guajava L.) can inhibit the growth of thebacteria Propionibacterium acnes.
