Abstract

Gotu kola (Centella asiatica (L.) Urb. Is a family of Apiaceae, wich my provide antibacterial activitynbased on its compound content. The research was conducted to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of gotu kola leaf, mimimum inhibitory concentration and antibacterial activity of paper soap preparations of gotu kola leaf extract (Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.) against Staphylococcus aureus. Thick extract obtained by maceration method. The method used for testing antibacterial activity is agar diffusion with MHA (Muller Hiton Agar) media. Antibacterial activity test of the ethanol extract of gotu kola (Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.) leaves produced the highest inhibitor zones at 90-100% concentrations, 9,5 mm and 11 mm. the minimum inhibitory concentration of 2% with an inhibition zone of 0,76 mm. made in the formulation of paper soap preparations for ease of use, the results of the antibacterial activity test of the paper soap preparations ethanol extract of gotu kola leaves resulted in inhibition zone aa,2 mm. from the results of data analysis that gotu kola leaf can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, with a significant difference from each concentration in the ANNOVA test α < 0,005. Urb.) merupakan family dari Apiaceae yang diduga dapat memberikan aktivitas antibakteri berdasarkan kandungan senyawanya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun pegagan, konsentrasi hambat minimum dan aktivitas antibakteri sediaan paper soap ekstrak daun pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Ekstrak kental yang diperoleh dengan metode maserasi. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengujian aktivitas antibakteri yaitu difusi agar dengan media MHA ( Muller Hiton Agar). Uji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.) menghasilkan zona hambat tertinggi terdapat pada konsentrai 90-100% yaitu 9,5 mm dan 11 mm. konsentrasi hambat minimum terdapat pada konsentrasi 2% dengan zona hambat 0,76 mm. dibuat dalam formulasi sediaan paper soap untuk memudahkan dalam pengunaan, hasil dari uji aktivitas antibakteri sediaan paper soap ekstrak etaanol daun pegagan menghasilkan zona hambat 11,2 mm. dari hasil analiss data bahwa daun pegagan dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, dengan perbedaan signifikan dari setiap konsentrasi pada uji ANNOVA α < 0,005.
