Abstract

ABSTRAK Tumbuhan yang dimiliki negara Indonesia banyak mempunyai khasiat. Pengobatan secara empiris biasanya banyak menggunakan tumbuhan sebagai bahan baku. Tetapi seringkali belum terstandarisasi sehingga keamanan, kualitas dan khasiatnya belum terjamin. Oleh karena itu standarisasi mutu simplisia perlu dilakukan. Tumbuhan yang secara empiris biasanya dipakai sebagai bahan baku obat adalah daun ketepeng cina yang biasanya dipakai sebagai obat kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hasil standarisasi mutu simplisia daun ketepeng cina serta mengetahui perbedaan aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak (n-heksana, etil asetat, dan etanol) daun ketepeng cina terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis dilihat dari zona hambat. . Hasil dari kadar air 6%, kadar abu total 7,37%, kadar abu tidak larut asam 0,41%, susut pengeringan 8,27%, kadar sari larut air 26,56%, dan kadar sari larut etanol 21,51%. Daun ketepeng cina menggunakan maserasi bertingkat. Metode difusi agar dengan menggunakan teknik sumuran adalah metode dari uji aktivitas antibakteri. Zona hambat tertinggi diantara ketiga pelarut yaitu pada ekstrak etanol konsentrasi 20% 12,453 mm. Hasil dari uji Tukey HSD menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara ekstrak etanol dengan ekstrak n-heksana. Kata Kunci : Ketepeng Cina, Staphylococcus epidermidis ABSTRACT Plants owned by the Indonesian state have many benefits. Empirical treatment usually uses plants as raw materials. However, it is often not standardized so that its safety, quality and efficacy are not guaranteed. Therefore, standardization of simplicia quality needs to be done. The plant that is empirically usually used as a medicinal raw material is the Chinese ketepeng leaf which is usually used as a skin medicine. This study aims to determine the results of standardization of simplicia quality of Chinese ketepeng leaves and to determine differences in the antibacterial activity of the extracts (n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol) of Chinese ketepeng leaves against Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria seen from the inhibition zone. The results of standardization of the simplicia quality of Chinese ketepeng leaves have met the requirements except for the total ash content because it is >6%. Chinese ketepeng leaves use graded maceration. The agar diffusion method using the well technique is a method of testing antibacterial activity. The highest inhibition zone among the three solvents was the ethanol extract with a concentration of 20% 12,453 mm. The results of the Tukey HSD test showed that there was a significant difference between the ethanol extract and the n-hexane extract. Keywords: Ketepeng Cina, Staphylococcus epidermidis
