Abstract

Abstrak Secara alamiah, setiap makhluk hidup pastinya akan mengalami suatu proses penuaan dimana proses tersebut memang wajar terjadi dan tidak bisa dihindari, tetapi proses penuaan tersebut seakan terjadi begitu cepat serta faktor penyebabnya yaitu karena radikal bebas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol daun katuk (Sauropus androgynous L.Merr) dan formula terbaik yang dijadikan sediaan serum wajah ekstrak etanol daun katuk. Metode penelitian meliputi pengolahan daun katuk, pembuatan ekstrak metode maserasi dengan etanol 96%, skrining fitokimia, karakteristik ekstrak, pengujian antioksidan ekstrak metode DPPH dengan alat Spektrofotometer UV-Visibel dengan panjang gelombang 516 nm, pembuatan formula sediaan serum wajah dengan penambahan ekstrak etanol daun katuk dengan masing-masing konsentrasi 3% (F1), 5% (F2) dan 7%(F3) ke dalam serum. Evaluasi sediaan serum meliputi uji stabilitas cycling test yang terdiri dari uji organleptis, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji viskositas dan uji daya sebar. Hasil penelitian didapat bahwa ekstrak etanol daun katuk mengandung antioksidan yang kuat dengan larutan pembanding vitamin C kemudian berdasarkan uji stabilitas 6 siklus formula sediaan serum ekstrak etanol daun katuk terbaik didapat pada formula 3 dan berdasarkan analisis statistik formula 3 mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan yang kuat. Kata Kunci : Antioksidan, Daun Katuk, Ekstrak Etanol, Vitamin C, Sediaan Serum Abstract Naturally, every living thing will certainly experience an aging process where the process is natural and unavoidable, but the aging process seems to occur so quickly and the causative factor is free radicals. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethanolic extract of katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynous L. Merr) and the best formula used as a facial serum for the ethanolic extract of katuk leaves. The research methods include processing of katuk leaves, making extracts using maceration method with 96% ethanol, phytochemical screening, extract characteristics, antioxidant testing of DPPH method extracts with UV-Visible Spectrophotometer with a wavelength of 516 nm, making facial serum formulations with the addition of ethanol extract of katuk leaves. with the respective concentrations of 3% (F1), 5% (F2) and 7% (F3) into the serum. Evaluation of serum preparations included a cycling test stability test which consisted of organleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, viscosity test and spreadability test. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of katuk leaves contains strong antioxidants with a comparison solution of vitamin C. Then based on the stability test of 6 cycles, the best serum ethanol extract of katuk leaf extract was found in formula 3 and based on statistical analysis, formula 3 had strong antioxidant activity.
