Abstract
ABSTRAK UJI ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK BIJI MANGGA LIMUS (MANGIVERA FOETIDA L) TERHADAP BAKTERI STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS Penyakit infeksi umumnya disebabkan oleh mikroba seperti jamur dan bakteri. Bakteri yang dapat menyebabkan infeksi salah satunya adalah Staphylococcus aureus. Salah satu pengobatan penyakit infeksi yaitu bahan alami yang mengandung anti bakteri tumbuhan yang dimaksud yaitu biji mangga limus (Mangivera foetida L). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kandungan metabolit sekunder pada biji mangga limus, pengaruh variasi konsentrasi etanol biji mangga limus terhadap diameter zona hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Uji kandungan metabolit sekunder dilakukan dengan cara skrining fitokimia. Uji antibakteri ini menggunakan metode difusi cakram atau metode Kirby-bauer dengan variasi konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%. Analisis data antibakteri menggunakan Analisa deskriptif begitu juga dengan skrining fitokimia menggunakan Analisa deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol biji mangga limus mengandung senyawa flavonoid dan senyawa tanin. Hasil uji zona daya hambat diperoleh konsentrasi optimal pada konsentrasi 75% dan 100% dengan diameter zona sebesar 22,1 dan 22,4 terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Kata kunci : Antibakteri, fitokimia, Staphylococcus aureus, Zona hambat ABSTRACT Infectious diseases are generally caused by microbes such as fungi and bacteria. One of the bacteria that can cause infection is Staphylococcus aureus. One of the treatment for infectious diseases is natural ingredients that contain anti-bacterial plants in question, namely the seeds of mango limus (Mangivera foetida L). This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolites in mango limus seed, the effect of variations in the ethanol concentration of mango limus seeds on the diameter of the inhibition zone for the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The secondary metabolite content test was carried out by means of phytochemical screening. This antibacterial test uses the disc diffusion method or the Kirby-bauer method with various concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. Antibacterial data analysis used descriptive analysis as well as phytochemical screening using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the ethanol extract of mango limus seeds contained flavonoid compounds and tannin compounds. The results of the zone of inhibition test obtained optimal concentrations at concentrations of 75% and 100% with zone diameters of 22.1 and 22.4 against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.
