Abstract
Abstrak Penyebaran bakteri paling banyak ditularkan melalui tangan ke tangan. Penyebaran ini dapat dicegah dengan cara mencuci tangan menggunakan produk sabun cuci tangan. Daun manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) memiliki kandungan senyawa fenolik, flavonoid, saponin dan tanin yang berfungsi sebagai antibakteri sehingga dapat berpotensi sebagai bahan aktif alami pada produk sabun cuci tangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun manggis dan sediaan sabun cair cuci tangan ekstrak daun manggis terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, mengetahui formula yang paling efektif menghambat bakteri. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri pada ekstrak dan sediaan dilakukan dengan metode difusi sumuran. Hasil uji evaluasi sediaan formula meliputi organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, bobot jenis dan viskositas memenuhi persyaratan pada semua formula kecuali pada uji viskositas. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun manggis memiliki kemampuan menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan memiliki nilai KHM pada konsentrasi 1% dengan zona hambat sebesar 3,55 ± 0,041 mm. Sabun cair cuci tangan ekstrak etanol daun manggis memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang baik pada F1 10% (13,09 ± 0,196 mm) dan F2 15% (16,30 ± 0,026 mm). Formula yang memiliki daya hambat paling baik terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus adalah formula 2 dengan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun manggis sebesar 15%. This spread can be prevented by washing hands using hand soap products. Mangosteen leaves (Garcinia mangostana L.) contain phenolic compounds, flavonoids, saponins and tannins that function as antibacterial so that they can be potential as natural active ingredients in hand soap products. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of mangosteen leaf extract and liquid hand soap preparations of mangosteen leaf extract against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, to determine the most effective formula for inhibiting bacteria. Testing of antibacterial activity on extracts and preparations was carried out by the well diffusion method. The results of the evaluation test of formula preparations including organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, specific gravity and viscosity met the requirements for all formulas except for the viscosity test. The results of the antibacterial activity test showed that the mangosteen leaf extract had the ability to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and had a MIC value at a concentration of 1% with an inhibition zone of 3.55 ± 0.041 mm. Liquid soap for hand washing with mangosteen leaf ethanol extract had good antibacterial activity at 10% F1 (13.09 ± 0.196 mm) and 15% F2 (16.30 ± 0.026 mm). The formula that had the best inhibition against Staphylococcus aureus was formula 2 with a concentration of 15% mangosteen leaf ethanol extract.
