Abstract

ABSTRAK AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI DAN PROFIL BIOAUTOGRAFI EKSTRAK RIMPANG KAPULAGA JAWA (Amomum compactum Soland ex Maton ) TERHADAP BAKTERI Streptococcus pyogenes Dema Aditia1 , Hendy Suhendy1, Tresna Lestari1, 1Program Studi S1 Farmasi, Fakultas Farmasi, Universitas Bakti Tunas Husada Abstrak Prevalensi kasus faringitis di Indonesia cukup tinggi. Salah satu penyebab penyakit tersebut adalah bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes. Penelitian sebelumnya menyatakan bahwa buah dan biji tanaman kapulaga memberikan aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Streptococcus pyogenes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri beberapa ekstrak rimpang kapulaga terhadap bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes. Nilai konsentrasi hambat minimum (KHM), dan profil KLT bioautografi ekstrak terpilih. Metode pengujian antibakteri menggunakan difusi cakram. Nilai konsentrasi hambat minimum KHM diujikan terhadap ekstrak dengan konsentrasi 20%, 19%, 18%, 17%, 16%, 15%. KLT bioautograf menggunakan metode celup dengan penyemprotan tetrazolium. Hasil penelitian ekstrak n-heksan, etil asetat dan etanol konsentrasi 20% rimpang kapulaga memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dengan zona bening berturut turut sebesar 8,46 mm dan 4,18mm, terhadap bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes, KHM ekstrak n-heksan 15%, ekstrak etil asetat 17% dan hasil KLT bioautografi ekstrak n-heksan terdapat zona bening pada nilai Rf 0,81. Ekstrak rimpang kapulaga mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes dan senyawa metabolit sekunder golongan terpen merupakan yang memberikan aktivitas antibakteri. One of the causes of this disease is the bacterium Streptococcus pyogenes. Previous research stated that the fruit and seeds of the cardamom plant provide antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pyogenes. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of several cardamom rhizome extracts against Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values, and bioautographic TLC profiles of selected extracts. Antibacterial testing method using disc diffusion. MIC minimum inhibitory concentration values were tested on extracts with concentrations of 20%, 19%, 18%, 17%, 16%, 15%. Bioautograph TLC used the dipping method by spraying tetrazolium. The results of research on n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol extracts with a concentration of 20% cardamom rhizome had antibacterial activity with clear zones of 8.46 mm and 4.18 mm, respectively, against Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria, MIC of 15% n-hexane extract, ethyl acetate extract 17% and the results of the bioautographic TLC of the n-hexane extract showed a clear zone at an Rf value of 0.81. Cardamom rhizome extract has antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria and secondary metabolites of the terpene group provide antibacterial activity.
