Abstract
Kata Kunci : Pediculus humanus capitis, Bawang putih (Allium sativum), Uji efektivitas antikutu ABSTRACT Pediculus humanus is a scalp infection caused by the ectoparasite pediculus humanus capitis. So far, head lice have been treated using 1% permethrin, but they cause side effects, the emergence of insect resistance to indexides and irritation of the skin. Based on previous studies, it is known that garlic (Allium sativum) contains active compounds such as saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids as well as the main content of allixin, these compounds function as insecticides against fleas. The purpose of this study was to see the effectiveness of garlic extract shampoo (Allium sativum) with a concentration of 5%, 8%, and 10% on 10 samples of fleas that had met the requirements of a good shampoo, namely the viscosity test requirements, the height of the foam cycling test (organoleptic, homogeneity, and pH). The results showed that garlic extract shampoo (Allium sativum) at concentrations of 5%, 8% and 10% gave good mortality which lasted less than 30 minutes. Garlic extract shampoo (Allium sativum) formula III, namely 10%, gave a good mortality rate. It was tested with 10 minutes, killing 10 fleas. Based on the ANOVA test, the hypothesis was accepted because there was a significant difference then the BNT test was continued and the garlic extract shampoo (Allium sativum) at a concentration of 10% was more effective and efficient.
