Abstract

ABSTRAK Kulit wajah merupakan bagian terluar pada tubuh manusia yang paling mudah terlihat oleh orang lain. Memiliki kulit yang bersih, terawat, sehat, serta terlihat awet muda menjadi keinginan semua orang. Pemanfaatan antioksidan ditujukan untuk pemakaian kulit wajah untuk mencegah penuaan dini dapat diformulasikan sebagai kosmetik. Salah satu bentuk sediaan kosmetik yang dapat digunakan adalah exfoliating face toner. Salah satu tanaman yang memiliki aktivitas antiosidan yang tinggi adalah tanaman kelor (Moringa oliefera Lam). Ekstrak etanol daun kelor memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 66,79 ppm termasuk kedalam kategori kuat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan sediaan exfoliating face toner ekstrak etanol daun kelor. Diformulasikan sediaan exfoliating face toner dengan membandingkan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun kelor yaitu 10%, 15% dan 20%. Evaluasi sediaan exfoliating face toner meliputi organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, uji viskositas, hedonik dan uji aktivitas antioksidan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pengujian aktivitas antioksidan sediaan exfoliating face toner terbaik adalah sediaan dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 20% dengan IC50 sebesar 169,95 ppm. Kata Kunci: Daun Kelor, exfoliating face toner, Antioksidan ABSTRACT Facial skin is the outermost part of the human body that is most easily seen by others. Having clean, well-maintained, healthy skin, and looking youthful is everyone's wish. The use of antioxidants is intended for facial skin use to prevent premature aging and can be formulated as cosmetics. One form of cosmetic preparation that can be used is an exfoliating face toner. One of the plants that has high antioxidant activity is the moringa plant (Moringa oliefera Lam). The ethanol extract of Moringa leaves has an IC50 value of 66.79 ppm which is included in the strong category. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of exfoliating face toner preparations of the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves. An exfoliating face toner preparation was formulated by comparing the concentration of the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves, namely 10%, 15% and 20%. Evaluation of exfoliating face toner preparations includes organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity test, hedonic and antioxidant activity test. The results obtained from testing the antioxidant activity of the best exfoliating face toner preparations were preparations with an extract concentration of 20% with an IC50 of 169.95 ppm.
