Abstract

Blush on merupakan salah satu kosmetik yang biasa digunakan pada pipi untuk menghasilkan warna kemerahan alami agar kulit tampak segar, sehat, dan tidak pucat. Pewarna yang digunakan dalam kosmetik biasanya berasal dari pewarna sintetik dan alami. Tanaman yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pewarna alami ialah tanaman bunga sepatu (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.). Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui formulasi dan evaluasi sediaan ekstrak bunga sepatu (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) sebagai cream blush on. Metode yang digunakan yaitu maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh rendemen ekstrak sebesar 7,91%. Standarisasi diperoleh kadar sari larut etanol 15,07%, kadar sari larut air 18,13%, kadar air 8%, dan kadar abu total 5,17% dimana hasil tersebut telah memenuhi parameter standarisasi. Hasil formulasi sediaan ekstrak bunga sepatu (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) dengan konsentrasi 0%, 7%, 14%, dan 21% diperoleh warna putih, merah muda pucat, merah muda, dan merah. Hasil evaluasi sediaan cream blush meliputi uji organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat, viskositas, stabilitas, hedonik, dan iritasi menunjukan bahwa keempat formula telah memenuhi persyaratan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak bunga sepatu (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) dapat dijadikan pewarna alami pada sediaan cream blush on. Kata kunci : Bunga sepatu, cream blush on, antosianin Blush is one of the cosmetics commonly used on the cheeks to produce a natural reddish color to make the skin look fresh, healthy, and not pale. Dyes used in cosmetics usually come from synthetic and natural dyes. Plants that can be used as natural dyes are hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.). The purpose of this study was to determine the formulation and evaluation of the preparation of hibiscus flower extract (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) as a cream blush. The method used was maceration using 96% ethanol. The results of this study obtained an extract yield of 7.91%. Standardization obtained ethanol soluble juice content of 15.07%, water soluble juice content of 18.13%, moisture content of 8%, and total ash content of 5.17% where these results have met the standardization parameters. The results of the preparation formulation of hibiscus flower extract (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) with concentrations of 0%, 7%, 14%, and 21% obtained white, pale pink, pink, and red colors. The results of the evaluation of cream blush preparations including organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion, viscosity, stability, hedonic, and irritation tests showed that the four formulas met the requirements. This shows that hibiscus extract (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) can be used as a natural colorant in cream blush preparations. Keywords: Hibiscus flower, cream blush, anthocyanin.
