Abstract

ABSTRAK Aktivitas Microneedle Terintegrasi Nanoemulsi Kurkumin Terhadap Bakteri Propionibacterium acnes Luthfi Najdah Mujahidah Progran studi S1 Farmasi, Universitas Bakti Tunas Husada Abstrak Jerawat merupakan infeksi kulit yang paling umum terjadi dikalangan masyarakat, salah satu penyebab terjadinya infeksi ini disebabkan oleh bakteri Proiponibacterium acnes. Kurkumin mempunyai aktivitas biologis sebagai anti-inflamasi dan antibakteri namun bioavailabilitasnya rendah sehingga modifikasi nanoemulsi diperlukan untuk meningkatkan bioavailabilitasnya. Nanoemulsi kurkumin dapat diaplikasikan kedalam sediaan farmasi secara transdermal yaitu microneedle patch. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri microneedle nanoemulsi kurkumin dalam menghambat bakteri Propionibacterium acnes, karakteristik dari nanoemulsi kurkumin dan sediaan microneedle. Pengujian dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram untuk melihat daya hambatnya. Hasil yang didapatkan formula nanoemulsi menggunakan ko-surfaktan PEG 200 memiliki ukuran partikel 136,31 ± 0,85 nm, nilai PDI 0,09 ± 0,02 dan zeta potensial -48,57 ± 0,45 mV. Sediaan microneedle nanoemulsi kurkumin memiliki sifat mekanik yang cukup baik dengan kadar kurkumin yang terkandung sebanyak 77 ± 0,75 ⴗg dan terpermeasi kedalam kulit sebanyak 98,31% selama 24 jam serta zona hambat yang dihasilkan yaitu sebesar 16,25 ± 0,81 mm yang tergolong memiliki sifat antibakteri yang kuat terhadap bakteri Proiponibacterium acnes. Kata Kunci: Kurkumin, Nanoemulsi, Microneedle, Jerawat¸ P.Acne Abstract Acne is the most common skin infection among the public, one of the causes of this infection is caused by the bacteria Proiponibacterium acnes. Curcumin has biological activity as an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial but its bioavailability is low so modification of nanoemulsion is needed to increase its bioavailability. Curcumin nanoemulsion can be applied into pharmaceutical preparations transdermally, namely microneedle patches. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of curcumin nanoemulsion microneedle in inhibiting Propionibacterium acnes bacteria, the characteristics of curcumin nanoemulsion and microneedle preparations. Tests were carried out using the disc diffusion method to see the inhibition. The results obtained from the nanoemulsion formula using PEG 200 co-surfactant had a particle size of 136.31 ± 0.85 nm, PDI value of 0.09 ± 0.02 and zeta potential of -48.57 ± 0.45 mV. The curcumin nanoemulsion microneedle preparation has good mechanical properties with curcumin levels contained as much as 77 ± 0.75 ⴗg and penetrated into the skin as much as 98.31% for 24 hours and the resulting inhibition zone is 16.25 ± 0.81 mm which is classified as having strong antibacterial properties against Proiponibacterium acnes bacteria.
