Abstract
Kata kunci : kulit pisang ambon, antibakteri, Staphylococcus aureus, difusi cakram Abstract The increasing resistance of bacteria to antibiotics has prompted the search for safer and more natural antibacterial alternatives. Ambon banana peel has potential for use because it contains bioactive compounds. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of Ambon banana peel powder against Staphylococcus aureus and to identify its active compounds. The method used was experimental with disc diffusion. Banana peel powder was extracted using 70% ethanol. Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and alkaloids. Antibacterial testing was conducted at concentrations of 10%, 50%, and 100%. The results showed that the flour suspension did not produce an inhibition zone, while the ethanol extract exhibited weak inhibitory activity. These findings indicate the potential of Ambon banana peel as a natural antibacterial agent, although its effectiveness is influenced by the formulation and solvent used. Keyword : ambon banana peel, antibacterial, Staphylococcus aureus, disc diffusion
