Abstract

ABSTRAK Formulasi dan Evaluasi Granul Effervescent Dari Jahe Merah (Zingiber Officinale Var. Rubrum) dan Serai Wangi (Cymbopogon Nardus (L.) Rendle) Zifa Assafa Program studi S1 Farmasi, Universitas Bakti Tunas Husada Tasikmalaya Granul effervescent merupakan sediaan yang menghasilkan larutan berkarbonasi melalui reaksi antara asam dan basa ketika dilarutkan dalam air. Sediaan ini dikembangkan sebagai bentuk minuman herbal yang praktis, mudah dikonsumsi, dan memiliki stabilitas yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan dan mengevaluasi sifat fisik granul effervescent dari kombinasi jahe merah (Zingiber officinale var.rubrum) dan serai wangi (Cymbopogon Nardus (L.) Rendle) yang diketahui memiliki kandungan senyawa antioksidan.Penelitian dilakukan melalui tahapan preparasi sampel, pembuatan sari tanaman, skrining fitokimia, formulasi granul effervescent dan evaluasi sifat fisik granul meliputi organoleptik, kadar air, waktu alir, sudut diam, waktu kelarutan, pH, serta kompresibilitas granul. Hasil skrining fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa jahe merah dan serai wangi positif mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, dan polifenol. Serai wangi juga menunjukkan hasil positif terhadap saponin, sedangkan jahe merah positif mengandung steroid.Hasil evaluasi granul effervescent menunjukkan bahwa sediaan memiliki karakteristik fisik yang baik, dengan kadar air memenuhi persyaratan yaitu kurang dari 5%, waktu kelarutan kurang dari 5 menit, nilai pH berada pada rentang 6,1–7,1, serta memiliki sifat alir dan kompresibilitas yang baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kombinasi jahe merah dan serai wangi dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan granul effervescent yang stabil dan memenuhi persyaratan evaluasi fisik granul. Abstract Effervescent granules are preparations that produce a carbonated solution through a reaction between acid and base components when dissolved in water. This dosage form is widely developed as a practical herbal beverage due to its ease of consumption and good stability. This study aimed to formulate and evaluate the physical characteristics of effervescent granules containing red ginger (Zingiber officinale var.rubrum) and lemongrass (Cymbopogon Nardus (L.) Rendle), which are known to contain antioxidant bioactive compounds.The research stages included sample preparation, plant extract preparation, phytochemical screening, formulation of effervescent granules, and evaluation of granule physical properties including organoleptic test, moisture content, flow rate, angle of repose, dissolution time, pH, and compressibility test. Phytochemical screening results showed that red ginger and lemongrass positively contained alkaloids, flavonoids, and polyphenols. Lemongrass also showed positive results for saponins, while red ginger showed positive results for steroids.The evaluation results showed that the effervescent granules had good physical characteristics, with moisture content meeting the required standard of less than 5%, dissolution time of less than 5 minutes, pH value ranging from 6.1 to 7.1, and good flowability and compressibility properties. Based on the results of this study, the combination of red ginger and lemongrass could be formulated into stable effervescent granules that met the physical evaluation requirements..
