Abstract

ABSTRAK Lip balm yaitu salah satu kosmetik yang digunakan sebagai pelembab dan pelindung bagi kulit bibir dari pancaran sinar matahari. Salah satu komponen pada lip balm yaitu pewarna. Bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea L.) berperan sebagai pewarna alami berupa senyawa antosianin. Senyawa antosianin merupakan turunan dari flavonoid yang memiliki potensi sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui senyawa antosianin ekstrak bunga telang (Clitoria trenatea L.) dapat digunakan sebagai pewarna alami dan formula lip balm mana yang paling disukai panelis. Konsentrasi ekstrak bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea L.) untuk setiap formula yaitu 5%, 10% dan 15%. Evaluasi sediaan lip balm meliputi uji homogenitas, organoleptik, daya oles, pH, titik leleh, iritasi dan hedonik. Hasil evaluasi lip balm menunjukkan sediaan yang homogen, stabilitas dan daya oles yang baik, pH 4,87-5,60, titik leleh 52-55 ̊ C, tidak menimbulkan iritasi dan yang paling disukai panelis berdasarkan parameter warna yaitu formula 3. ABSTRACT Lip balm is a cosmetic that has the purpose of moisturizing and protecting the skin of the lips from sun exposure. One of the components used in lip balm preparations is a dye. Telang flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) acts as a natural dye because it contains anthocyanin compounds. Anthocyanin compounds are derivatives of flavonoid compounds that are thought to be antioxidants. The purpose of the study was to determine which anthocyanin compounds from the extract of telang flower (Clitoria trenatea L.) could be used as natural dyes and which lip balm formula the panelists preferred the most. The concentration of telang flower extract (Clitoria ternatea L.) with variations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. Evaluation of lip balm preparations included homogeneity, organoleptic, smear power, pH, melting point, irritation, and hedonic tests. The results of the evaluation of lip balm preparations that are homogeneous, show and show good greasing power, pH 4.87-5.60, melting point 52-55 C, do not cause irritation, and are the most preferred by panelists based on color parameters, namely formula 3.
