Abstract
Abstract Testing the quality characteristics of simplicia is very important in the manufacture of traditional medicines to ensure product safety, effectiveness and quality. Avocado leaves (Persea americana Mill) are a herbal plant that is often used as an antihypertensive treatment because they contain secondary metabolite compounds, namely flavonoids. Instant powdered drinks are a convenient way to prepare avocado leaves for consumption. The study's overarching goal was to compare and contrast the properties of two common sweeteners, stevia leaves (Stevia rebaudiana) and avocado leaf simplicia (Persea americana Mill). To make instant powder, we utilise the freeze-dry method after we examine the simplicia's quality qualities. Studies on avocado leaf simplicia's quality found that it had the following composition: 28% water-soluble essence, 30% ethanol-soluble essence, 6% water, 7.3% drying loss, 5.31 percent total ash, and 0.15 percent acid insoluble ash. The quality features of stevia leaf simplicia were as follows: 39% water solubility, 36% ethanol solubility, 8% water content, 7% drying loss, 8% total ash, and 0.25% acid insoluble ash levels. Formula I for an instant powder drink tested at a pH of 6, a water content of 2.7%, and a solubility of 3.25%. Equation II, with a pH of 5, a water concentration of 3.8%, and a solubility time of 3.50 minutes. This research concludes that simplicia is suitable for use as an ingredient in beverage preparations, as it meets the quality standards of the Indonesian herbal pharmacopoeia (2017), according to the findings of the quality characteristics test. Producing fast powdered drinks using a blend of stevia leaf extract and avocado leaf extract satisfies SNI 01-4320-1996 requirements. Data analysis testing using SPSS shows that FII instant powder, avocado leaf extract with a combination of stevia leaf extract is a good formula. Keywords: Avocado leaves, Stevia leaves, instant powder drink, flavonoids Abstrak Uji karakteristik mutu simplisia sangat penting dalam pembuatan obat tradisional untuk menjamin keamanan, efektivitas, dan kualitas produk. Tanaman herbal Persea americana Mill., yang mengandung daun alpukat, merupakan bahan umum dalam pengobatan hipertensi karena mengandung flavonoid dan bahan kimia metabolit sekunder lainnya. Minuman bubuk instan merupakan cara praktis untuk menyiapkan daun alpukat agar siap dikonsumsi. Peneliti dalam penelitian ini bermaksud membandingkan dua jenis daun yang digunakan dalam produksi bubuk stevia dan daun alpukat, serta menarik kesimpulan tentang keunggulan relatif kedua bahan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pemeriksaan karakteristik mutu simplisia dan pembuatan serbuk instan menggunakankan metode freeze dry. Berdasarkan hasil uji karakteristik mutu simplisia daun alpukat, diperoleh informasi sebagai berikut: kelarutan dalam air 28%, kelarutan dalam etanol 30%, kadar air 6%, susut pengeringan 7,3%, kadar abu total 5,31%, dan kadar abu tidak larut asam 0,15%. Fitur mutu simplisia daun stevia adalah sebagai berikut: 39% ekstrak larut air, 36% ekstrak larut etanol, kadar air 8%, susut pengeringan 7%, total abu 8%, dan abu tidak larut asam 0,25%. Hasil evaluasi minuman serbuk instan formula I yaitu, pH 6, kadar air 2,7%,kelarutan 3,25%. Formula II, pH 5, kadar air 3,8%,kelarutan 3,50 menit. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Hasil uji karakteristik mutu simplisia menunjukan layak digunakan untuk menjadi bahan pembuatan sediaan minuman dikarnakan memenuhi standar mutu farmakope herbal Indonesia (2017). Hasil pembuatan minuman serbuk instan ekstrak daun alpukat dengan kombinasi ekstrak daun stevia memenuhi standar SNI 01-4320-1996. Pengujian analisis data menggunakan SPSS bahwa Formula II serbuk instan ekstrak daun alpukat dengan kombinasi ekstrak daun stevia merupakan formula yang baik.
