Abstract
ABSTRAK PENGUJIAN AKTIVITAS ANTIDIABETES EKSTRAK ETANOL RUMPUT LAUT HIJAU (Eucheuma spinosum) PADA TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN (Rattus norvegicus) YANG DIINDUKSI ALOKSAN Ana Noviana Rachmadhiani Program Studi S1 Farmasi Universitas Bakti Tunas Husada Tasikmalaya Abstrak Diabetes merupakan penyakit serius dengan prevalensi global tinggi, termasuk di Indonesia. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efek antidiabetes ekstrak etanol Eucheuma spinosum pada tikus yang diinduksi aloksan. Ekstrak diperoleh melalui maserasi dan mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, serta tanin. Sebanyak 24 tikus dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok: kontrol normal, positif (metformin 9 mg/200 g BB), negatif, dan tiga kelompok perlakuan (30, 60, 120 mg/200 g BB). Hasil menunjukkan rendemen ekstrak 2,5%, dengan dosis 120 mg/200 g BB memberikan penurunan glukosa darah tertinggi (39,70%). Analisis statistik (ANOVA, p≤0,05) mengonfirmasi perbedaan signifikan antar kelompok. Mekanisme diduga melalui regenerasi sel β pankreas dan inhibisi penyerapan glukosa. Disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak Eucheuma spinosum efektif sebagai antidiabetes. Kata Kunci: Eucheuma spinosum, rumput laut hijau, antidiabetes, aloksan. Abstract Diabetes is a serious disease with a high global prevalence, including in Indonesia. This study evaluates the antidiabetic effects of ethanol extract of Eucheuma spinosum on alloxan-induced rats. The extract was obtained through maceration and contains alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. A total of 24 rats were divided into 6 groups: normal control, positive (metformin 9 mg/200 g BW of rat), negative, and three treatment groups (30, 60, 120 mg/200 g BW of rat). Research The results showed an extract rendemen of 2.5%, with a dose of 120 mg/200 g BW of rat resulting in the highest blood glucose reduction (39.70%). Statistical analysis (ANOVA, p≤0.05) confirmed significant differences between groups. Discussion: The mechanism is suspected to involve the regeneration of pancreatic β cells and the inhibition of glucose absorption.
