Abstract
Kata kunci : nyamuk Aedes aegepti, daun salam (Syzygium polyanthum),insektisda dan larvasida Abstract Aedes aegypti mosquito is a vector that causes dengue fever. Aedes aegypti mosquito control often uses chemical larvicides (abates) or chemical insecticides (DEET) but has a negative impact on the environment. Another option is to use biological insecticides derived from plants such as bay leaves. Salam leaf extract contains alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids and saponins that function as insecticides. The research method used is the literature study (literature review) used by several journals using Google Scholar. The results of the review show that bay leaves have the potential to be larvicides and insecticides against Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. As larvaside the best results were obtained from the use of bay leaf extract concentration of 20%, mortality was 81.65%, while the best insecticide results obtained on the use of bay leaf extract 0.8%, mortality 95% of the mosquito sample population. Keywords : Aedes aegepti mosquito, bay leaf (Syzygium polyanthum),insecticides and larvicide
